So I decided to try a cleanse.
During high school and college I was thin. But over the last few years I have gained a significant amount of weight. I have become so self-conscious about my body. I even just feel ick. I have tried exercising, not only do I not have the time because of work and everything else that comes along with being an adult, but I also could never stick with it because my body would literally crave bad food.
So I started doing research into a cleanse. I have a bunch of friends that had tried it and received amazing results without even working on. So I found some recipes (I will post some later) and promised myself I would stick with it for 2 weeks.
The first day wasn't bad. I thought wow why had I not done this earlier. Well when the second day rolled around I knew why so many people bow out. Along with doing the cleanse I also cut out all soda and tea. So the second day my migraine felt like it was splitting my head open. My body felt like it was starving and I had absolutely no energy. The third day wasn't much better. The headaches weren't so bad but I was exhausted. I was very tempted to just give up at that point. But I said to myself give it one more day. Well the forth day was amazing. I felt great. My energy levels were up. My headaches were gone. AND I was also sleeping better. I was so glad I didn't quit. I got on the scale that day and I had lost 4 lbs and 20% of my BMI. I was elated to say the least.
Unfortunately on the night of day 5 I got sick. I am still feeling pretty crummy but I am back on the cleanse. Hopefully it will help in boosting my energy and get rid of all this ick.
Cleansing is definitely not for everyone. You really have to be determined and committed to making your body healthier. Doing a cleanse isn't just about loosing weight either. It's about making your body healthy. Eating unhealthy foods destroy you insides. Now I am not saying you can never splurge. I actually encourage it. I suggest being very strict for 2 weeks, then after the two weeks are up do a breakfast and lunch cleanse shake, and then eat what you want for dinner (within reason). This way you are still getting food, while loosing weight, and you won't be as tempted to run down the road to McDonalds to get a Big Mac.
Well thats all for now. Like I said I will post some recipes later and maybe even do a tutorial for y'all so that you can see how I make the smoothies as well.
